farbenmix LORE

Pattern is farbenmix LORE, divided skirt ( aka shorts) and top.

Fabric is Marcus Bros Hippy Chicks range, from a Buy we did last year. I managed to mix 3 of them in here!

Trim is farbenmix ribbon and badge.

These are for Bon, and I made the second biggest size (_ _ .) so 140 ish?

The shorts go together very well, I love the cut of them. I must have traced off the pocket bag on the wrong size as it was a smidge short, but I managed to make it work. The back pockets lend themselves to lots of creativity in decorating them and also where you place them...I'll be more adventurous next time. These have a mock fly which I mucked up a bit ( I forgot how to do one and ran out of time!).

The top is super cute and goes together in about 1/2 hour! I really like their clever way of doing the binding...in the pic by pic tute they show how to bind the armholes before sewing the sides..clever. I'm going to do that with all my spaghetti strap tops now!

The top is purple COLORADO knit, trimed with Hippy Chicks.

Miss B ran off with these, and has kept them on for the day..AND requested another set. So, there..how good a review is that??

Some CRAFTY sewing!

Finally took a few hours off to do some sewing- it does not happen nearly often enough!

farbenmix "MADITA"

I LOVE this pattern..it goes together so well, and sits so nicely!

Pattern: farbenmix "MADITA". It is in German, but step by step available...it is an easy pattern. The trickiest bit is threading the elastic through the shoulder straps- and that is easily done with a nappy pin.

Fabric: Red drill left over from a Buy and a cheapo cotton woven Lil fell in love with at SL.

Trim: Tiny smidge of farb ribbon

No hacks at all...as is. The shape is very flattering to chubbier kids!

Patterns used: Ottobre 2/2002, #31 Cami top.
Fave Things Little Nighty Night pj's bottoms.

Fabric: Trim is STELLA in pastel pink, and Anita G Strawberries cotton knit. All from CM Shop!

Changes made: I lengthened the #31 by a lot, as it is midriff length normally. Plus, Bon is quite long! The boxers are meant to be a woven, but work fine in a sturdy knit like this.

I got brave and dragged the Coverpro out for these, I had even forgotten how to thread it! But a quick read of the manual and it was up and running like a charm. It made very quick work of the binding on the cami!
